Sweet Cicely – osmorhiza claytoni, myrrhis odorata – This herb is expectorant, stomachic and carminative. It has been used to alleviate dry coughs by loosening and shifting phlegm. It is a stomach tonic, relieving flatulence, stimulating the appetite, and has laxative properties. The roots are antiseptic and have been applied, externally, to bites, stings and wounds.
