Mad Dog Skullcap – scutellaria lateriflora – This herb was used by Native American Indians in female remedies: it aided in the expulsion of afterbirth, stimulated menstruation and eased breast pain. It is still used by todays herbalists as a nerve tonic. It is used on its own or in conjunction with other sedating herbs. Skullcap is used to treat insomnia, anxiety, neuralgia, and epilepsy.
